"I am the true vine, and my Father is the gardener. He cuts off every branch in me that bears no fruit, while every branch that does bear fruit he prunes so that it will be even more fruitful."
— John 15:1-2
I have always loved this quote and the idea that pruning makes you stronger and more fruitful. The answers are always inside of you because God has put you here for a purpose. You likely just need a little support and someone to reflect back to you what God already knows about you--you are wonderfully made and He has a purpose for you! I have found that throughout my life that the times of pruning, while incredibly painful, were followed by periods of great growth and abundance. Committing to coaching is a commitment--you are putting yourself in a vulnerable position so that you can achieve greater growth and to do this, you need a coach you can trust to walk you through proven methods to get you where you are meant to be.
"Hi, I'm Suzanne Carawan" is my typical introduction. I am a certified life coach by Life Purpose Institute as well as a marketing and business executive with over 25 years of experience working to build the habit of winning into individuals and teams. I have a MBA in global IT and marketing from American University in Washington, D.C. and a Master's in Public Health in social marketing from Tulane University in New Orleans. My undergraduate degree is in Philosophy from the University of Maryland, College Park, so somehow everything has come full circle in my life and I love being able to blend all of my experience and education into aiding my clients to be what they were meant to be. As far as my religious upbringing goes, I was born into Protestanism, almost converted to Judaism, and ultimately converted to Catholicism. I was brought up in a strict separation of church and state (not to mention how many organizations I've worked for that are truly anti-religion) , so it's still a struggle for me to integrate my professional and religious lives into one. Coaching allows me to do this and it feels wonderful! My point is that I am very, very real and down-to-earth. Luckily God's job is to judge and I am happy in knowing that I am just here to listen and provide love and support.
I am from the East Coast. The people in Columbus, Ohio just allow me to happily live here and bask in their niceness and overall down-to-earth sensibilities. Our sessions will pack a lot in--I am not sure calm and slow. I am going to get excited for you and celebrate your victories. I like to win, but I love to see others win even more. I will be your biggest cheerleader and we are going to get excited about living life. I moved to Columbus, Ohio from Washington, D.C. over ten years ago and it was one of the top decisions of my life. While hard at first, it has been one of those pruning the vine moments and has provided myself and my family with an environment where we can live by our values and be supported by the rich community of Columbus that has endless variety and is just full of good people. Having the courage to really define and design where you live, where you study, where you play and where you pray is incredibly powerful and can set your life on a totally next-level trajectory for not only yourself, but for the generations that come after you. Investing in coaching can be the catalyst that allows you to clarify what is important to you and set you on a path to bring your vision to fruition.
